Jamaica Doctor – Carron Gordon, and her team at UWI in Stroke treatment breakthrough

Lead medical researcher Dr. Carron Gordon and her team at at the University of the West Indies have discovered that simple outdoor walking three times per week for 30 minutes can significantly improve a stroke victim’s health-related quality of life, functional status, endurance, strength and fitness.
Results to back the findings are backed by the fact that one patient who participated in the study had a 200 percent improvement in their health.
Published last month in Stroke, a journal of the American Heart Association, the findings have generated widespread interest across the United States and have caused specialists to now rethink their approach in the treatment of stroke patients.
