Morgan Price, a junior gymnast at Fisk University, made history by earning a perfect 10.0 on her bar routine during a tri meet at Temple University on Saturday. She is the first gymnast from a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) to achieve this milestone in women’s collegiate gymnastics.

Price’s flawless routine, featuring her signature clean skills and a perfect full-twisting double-back dismount, earned a perfect score during the team’s third rotation. Her teammates celebrated enthusiastically as the scoreboard displayed her 10.0.

In addition to surpassing her previous career high of 9.90 on bars, Price had a standout meet, winning every event except beam. She claimed the all-around title with a career-high score of 39.500, nearly a full point ahead of the second-place gymnast.

Since Fisk University launched its gymnastics program in 2022 – the first HBCU program – Price has been a trailblazer. In her freshman season, she became the first HBCU gymnast to score a 9.90 on bars and the first to win an all-around title, which she secured in Georgia.
