How Jackson McCrea Whiskey, a Black-Owned brand, prioritizes women
Sheila Jackson and Natasha McCrea are reshaping the traditionally white, male-dominated whiskey industry.
What began as a casual dinner conversation has grown into a pioneering venture. Jackson McCrea Whiskey, established in 2022, is the first Black women-owned whiskey brand in California. From the start, the founders aimed for more than just creating a fine spirit.
With their experience in the wine and spirits sector, both Jackson and McCrea knew the challenges they would face as Black women launching a national whiskey brand. They focused on crafting a signature blend that would appeal to women, offering a smooth sip with complex, subtle flavors like smoke, caramel, and spice.
Despite being a young brand, Jackson McCrea Whiskey has already earned two prestigious awards within the wine and spirits community.
