18-year-old Khalifa Aminu develops sensory glasses to assist visually impaired individuals in walking independently
Khalifa Aminu, an 18-year-old inventor, is making waves with a series of innovative creations.
Aminu’s journey began in his childhood, inspired by movies that sparked his interest in building things, as he shared with DailyNews24 TV. His fascination led him to create his first project – a canoe – which made him realize the potential of using his skills to benefit his community.
Hailing from Kano, Nigeria, Aminu has developed several inventive projects, including a radio station, a bomb detector, and an automatic water spray system for farmers.
“All these inventions were created solely by me, without any external support or resources for large-scale production,” Aminu told the outlet. “I grew up around visually impaired individuals and understood the challenges they face daily. This motivated me to start developing a technology-based solution for them,” he added.
Aminu’s latest innovation is a pair of sensory glasses designed to help visually impaired individuals navigate their surroundings safely and independently.
