White House Initiative on HBCUs selects Adkins-Jackson as this year’s HBCU All-Star student

Paris Adkins-Jackson, a doctoral student in the Psychometrics Program at the Morgan State Univeristy (MSU) has been named the 2016 HBCU All-Star student by the White House Initiative on HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities).

The initiative, recognizes undergraduate, graduate and professional students for excellence in academics, leadership and civic engagement. Seventy three students from 63 HBCUs were selected.

As an HBCU All-Star for period 2016-17, Adkins-Jackson will serve as an ambassador for MSU and the White House Initiative on HBCUs by, among things, providing outreach opportunities to her fellow students about the value of education for improving the quality of life for people of all cultures.
She has previously conducted community-based, participatory research on the incidence of breast cancer in African American women. She is working to replicate her work towards the improvement of lives of global populations.
