Angelique Brunner – Venture capitalist rebuilding Washington DC, while creating jobs

Angelique Brunner founded EB5 Capital – a venture capital firm that connects real estate development revitalization projects that need funding to foreign investors who want to emigrate the United States.

EB5 Capital invests in neighborhoods that are “on the other side of the tracks” – where there isn’t enough housing and services.

The firm has created more than 30,000 jobs from its projects.

By focusing on neighborhood revitalization projects while her competition focused on other types projects, Brunner was able to build a strong track record without initially getting noticed. Of course, now that she’s been a success other companies want to focus where she found gold.

Prior to founding EB5 Capital, she had experience in real estate finance and investment, having arranged more than US$3 billion in transactions at firms including Fannie Mae, Neighborhood Development Co., National Capital Revitalization Corp. and CORE Capital Partners.

Under her stewardship, EB5 Capital has grown to a value of US$500 million. The company’s portfolio now extends beyond Washington DC to Oregon, Southern California, Tennessee and New York.
