African American-owned businesses grew at a much larger pace than the rest of U.S.-based businesses from 2002 to 2007

African American business owners made enormous strides during the early 2000s, as revealed by an infographic below from CreditDonkey.com.

According to the illustrated piece titled “Black Business Thriving,” the number of African American-owned businesses grew at a much larger pace than the rest of U.S.-based businesses from 2002 to 2007, the most recent year available.

When it comes to starting a new business, African American entrepreneurs far outpaced the rest of the United States. African American-owned businesses, where an African American holds a 51 percent stake have steadily increased since 2002.
