According to the illustrated piece titled “Black Business Thriving,” the number of African American-owned businesses grew at a much larger pace than the rest of U.S.-based businesses from 2002 to 2007, the most recent year available.
When it comes to starting a new business, African American entrepreneurs far outpaced the rest of the United States. African American-owned businesses, where an African American holds a 51 percent stake have steadily increased since 2002.
