CARICOM Observers Deploy to Monitor St. Vincent & the Grenadines Election
The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has deployed an independent team to observe the general election in St. Vincent & the Grenadines on November 27, 2025. The ten-member Election Observation Mission arrived following a formal invitation from the government.
Led by Sase R. Gunraj, a Commissioner of the Guyana Elections Commission, the team includes senior electoral officials from seven CARICOM member states. Since its arrival, the mission has begun assessing the pre-election environment, meeting with opposition leaders, civil society groups, and media representatives.
Further meetings are scheduled with Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves and election officials.
On election day, observers will monitor voting, ballot counting, and the declaration of results. The mission will issue a preliminary statement on November 29, with a comprehensive final report to follow.
This deployment underscores CARICOM’s ongoing role in supporting democratic processes and electoral integrity across the region.
