Robert F. Smith’s Vista Equity acquires tech company – Infoblox Inc., for $1.6 billion
Vista Equity Partners takes over Infoblox Inc.
Vista Equity Partners has acquired California-based tech company Infoblox Inc., in a deal valued at US$1.6 billion.
The deal is expected to close during Infoblox’s fiscal second quarter, or some time during the 3 months ending January 31 next year.
Infoblox, whose software is used for applications including automation of businesses’ computer-network functions was initially targeted for acquisition earlier this year by a separate private equity firm – however, the deal fell through.
Infoblox’s acquisition by Vista Equity Partners has injected new cash into the company, giving it a market value of approximately US$1.5 billion.
According to sources familiar with the transaction, Infoblox will remain based in California and keep its current executive team.
