Magic Johnson launches infrastructure investment fund
JLC Infrastructure fund set to invest in new projects
NBA legend Magic Johnson is launching an infrastructure investment fund.
Johnson revealed late last month that he has millions of dollars in the fund, and is looking to put it to work around the world. The fund is scouting out partners and projects, he said.
Johnson, founder, chairman and CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises has partnered with Jim Reynolds, CEO of Loop Capital Market to launch the JLC Infrastructure Fund.
The JLC Infrastructure Fund is presently involved with backing the construction of a new terminal at Denver International Airport.
“I am excited about infrastructure because this will happen for the next 25 years, because we will be rebuilding America,” Johnson said at a global finance and infrastructure forum.
Johnson is an accomplished serial entrepreneur and socially conscious investor. He turned his attention to the business world once he retired from the NBA.
His Magic Johnson Enterprises, has investments valued at US$1 billion, according to the firm’s website, and is a part-owner of the major league baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers. In addition, Johnson serves as president of basketball operations for the Los Angeles Lakers.
