Lupe Fiasco launches nonprofit to support under-served entrepreneurs and startups
Rapper and entrepreneur Lupe Fiasco (Wasalu Muhammad Jaco) has announced that he and his partners are in the process of launching a new non-profit organization that will strive to help young inner-city innovators – who also happen to be under-served to “turn ideas into startups.”
Lupe used social media to make the announcement about his project, called Neighborhood Start Fund.
The nonprofit will set up competitions in various areas around the country so it can help entrepreneurs turn their ideas into startups. The first event takes place in the neighborhood of Brownsville in Brooklyn, New York on November 13.
Lupe Fiasco has been a staunch advocate for justice and social change in the African American community. It is only natural that he has chosen to reach out to talented and often under-served entrepreneurs.
