Cameroon carrier, Camair-Co incurs loss of $42 million

“You are asking me to talk on something that may just be of your own imagination. I have to see the report you are talking about to be able to form an opinion. But even if I had seen the report, I am not the official spokesperson of the company.

“But, If I were to comment on what you have just told me, I would say as at now that I am talking to you, Camair-Co no longer employs expatriates pilots,” he said.

Camair-Co took over from the former national carrier Cameroon Airlines in March after an infusion of US$64 million from the government.

The Board of Directors of the company have asked for another cash injection of US$39 million. The airline’s CEO is a Dutchman, Alex Van Elk.

The airline’s most profitable route is Douala-Paris.
