African Union raises over $450 million to support intervention and humanitarian effort in Mali

The African Union has raised over US$450 million to support the African Union military intervention in Mali (AFISMA) and towards the resolution of the potential humanitarian crisis in the West African country.

The money was raised during the recent conference held by the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Ms. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, the African Union Commission chairperson, called on all member states and implementing partners to contribute in a “spirit of shared responsibility to generously respond to Mali’s call for assistance.”
