Texas Southern University has revealed its finalist for president, as per an official release by the Board of Regents. The appointee is James W. Crawford III.

Simmons expressed confidence in Crawford’s capabilities, citing his extensive experience in academia and law, including his tenure as a university president and board member, as well as his distinguished service as Vice Admiral and Judge Advocate General of the U.S. Navy, advising Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Crawford’s personal commitments as a husband and father further attest to his character. Crawford brings with him a wealth of experience from his recent presidency at Felician University, where he initially served as interim president for nine months before assuming the full presidency for nearly two years.
