Haiti shaken by 4.0 magnitude earthquake
An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 on the Richter scale shook Haiti on Wednesday April 12, 2018 at 8:45 pm (EDT).
According to the Technical Unit of Seismology of the country’s Bureau of Mines and Energy, the tremor lasted for 51 seconds at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles).
The epicenter was located about 10 km (6.2 miles) north west of Anse Rouge, 13 km (8 miles) north east of Baie de Henne and 37 km (23 miles) south west of Port-de-Paix.
No injuries or damage was reported by local authorities.
