Trinidad & Tobago Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar is projecting a rapidly expanding economy that will see a massive increase in jobs by 2020.
According to Persad-Bissessar, given the pace her administration intends to drive the economy over the next 6 years, it is projected that over 30,000 new well-paying jobs will be created by 2020, she told a breakfast meeting with the Trinidad & Tobago business community on Thursday.
Persad-Bissessar said the short and long-term prospects for the oil producing twin-island nation “are a far cry from a position of decline and instability in 2010”.
She said for that reason, this is the opportune time for more dialogue between the governing politicians and the business community. “It is now that our discussions should be on how government can further work to provide an enabling business environment and a better platform for your growth, expansion and entry into new sectors.” -(CMC)
