Regus Opens Center In Botswana

Wednesday, April 2, 2014

Regus, a multinational corporation that provides flexible workplaces and serviced office accommodation, has opened its first center in Gaborone, Botswana, creating new business opportunities within the region.  The center is at Gaborone Towers, which is considered the tallest building in the country and occupies the ground and first floors.

The center will have a walk-in business lounge, reception support, private and day offices, meeting rooms, virtual office services and a reliable, high-speed wifi, fulfilling its obligation of providing fully equipped and ready-to-use infrastructure that will ensure companies focus on their core businesses rather than bother with managing their corporate premises themselves.

Botswana will be the 43rd location Regus operates in Africa and using its network across the continent, companies can start up and expand into frontier markets, assessing business opportunities without incurring the financial risk of maintaining long-term, fixed property.

“Regus’s strategy is to further increase the support we offer to companies, by further growing our presence in Africa and, moreover, globally,” Mark Dixon, CEO of Regus Plc stated.  With the cost of developing infrastructure eliminated, companies will be encouraged to explore Botswana, which is considered a highly attractive market for businesses and is expected to achieve a GDP growth rate of about 5.5 percent this year.

He also added, “We are optimistic about the prospects in many African countries through drivers such as infrastructure development, foreign investment and growing entrepreneurship, and we urge companies to examine the opportunities there.”  With its launch in Botswana, Regus now operates in 17 countries in Africa and has plans to open at least 300 centers by the end of 2014.
