Monday, September 19, 2011

The CEO of REDjet has accused Caribbean governments of seeking to protect their own aviation interests by failing to deliver on an open skies agreement.

Ian Burns, (the CEO), indicated that outdated agreements are in force in the region. These outdated agreements, restrict growth and allow for political control to operate protectionism in direct conflict with the developments in aviation throughout the globe and consumer rights.

Leeward Islands Air Transport‘s (LIAT) CEO, Brian Challenger refuted Burns’ claim indicating that any airline that wanted to compete was welcome to doing so.
