Tamar-Melissa Huggins founder and CEO of Driven Accelerator Group
Tamar-Melissa Huggins is founder and CEO of Driven Accelerator Group – a digital startup accelerator for businesses led by minorities – African-Canadians and women.
Ms. Huggins was inspired to found the company after watching an episode of the Black in America television show that featured the NewME Accelerator, which supports minority entrepreneurs in the United States.
The Driven Accelerator Group accelerates innovative tech startups led by people of color and women – by providing the underrepresented market a platform to showcase their talents, grow their business, and receive access to funding. The company also provides training from go-to-market strategy, to financial planning in a period of 12 weeks.
Huggins is a serial entrepreneur, and has successfully launched and run a public relations firm – The knexxion communications group prior to her founding the Driven Accelerator Group. She has worked on some of the most coveted brands in Canada such as H&M, Nike Canada, Motorola, Kimberly Clark, Ford and Cadbury Adams.
Ms. Huggins is an alumnus of the Centennial College, where she earned a Diploma in Creative Advertising and The Humber College where she earned a Diploma in Public Relations.
