Joseph B. Anderson

Joseph B. Anderson is the majority owner, Chairman and CEO of the TAG Holdings LLC, based in Troy, Michigan.

The company Tag Holdings LLC., consists of subsidiaries which include automobile wheel-assembly suppliers, the manufacturing of precision components, plumbing ceramics makers, modular assemblies, warehousing services to name a few and owns which owns several manufacturing and service-based enterprises in North America and Asia.

Mr. Anderson began his business career with General Motors in 1979. He rose through the ranks up until 1990 when he was appointed the General Director, Body Hardware Business Unit, Inland Fisher Guide Division of General Motors, a business unit with 7,000 employees and revenue of US$1 billion.

In 1992, Anderson left General Motors to become the CEO of a privately held company, Composite Energy Management Systems, Incorporated (CEMSI). In October 1994, Anderson acquired a controlling interest in another privately held entity, Chivas Products Limited, which manufactured interior trim products and lighting assemblies principally for the automotive industry. In 1997 the company was restructured as Chivas Industries, LLC. where Anderson maintained controlling ownership and held the position of Chairman of the Board & CEO before divesting his interest in 2002.

Under his stewardship, TAG Holdings LLC has achieved solid growth – the company reported revenues of US$700 million in 2010.

Anderson is an alumnus of the United States Military Academy where he earned his Bachelors in in math and engineering. He is also an alumnus of the University of California, Los Angeles where he earned two masters degrees. He is also a graduate of Harvard Advanced Management Program.

Anderson has served in the U.S. military and commanded troops as an infantry officer in the 82nd Airborne Division and served two tours of duty with the 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam.

He is a philanthropist and serves on the company Boards of Directors of Quaker Chemical Corporation, Meritor, Inc., NV Energy, Valassis Communications and Rite Aid Corporation.
