Nigeria and Namibia Plan To Construct Joint Oil Refinery
Nigeria and Namibia have announced a joint oil refinery to maximize cooperation in energy sector. The announcement was made during the two-day official visit of President Goodluck Jonathan to Namibia with President Hifikepunye Pohamba. According to the joint press release, the refinery would be wholly private financed.
According to Leadership, “The leaders urged their respective private sector stakeholders to take the full advantage of the abundant business opportunities, to optimize trade and commerce between the two countries.” In addition, Nigeria also agreed to train Namibian diplomats at the Nigerian Foreign Service Academy and to provide volunteer health professionals to Namibia under the Technical Aid Corps Scheme.
