New Dangote Cement plant in Cameroon getting set to launch
Dangote Cement has received the first cargoes of raw materials for its new cement works at Douala, Cameroon. The delivery consists of clinker, gypsum and pozzolan, produced in the town of Tombel, located in the south west region of the country.
Over the past two weeks, the company has been carrying out equipment tests in the new plant which is expected to produce 1.5 million tonnes of cement per year, bringing the country’s annual production to approximately 3.6 million tonnes.
The Dangote group has invested US$90 million in the plant which is also expected to create over 300 new jobs in the area.
