Mitzi Miller stepping down as Editor-in-Chief of Ebony Magazine
Mitzi Miller has announced that she will be stepping down as Editor-in-Chief of Ebony Magazine. She has served at this role since April last year.
Miller, 39, has also been editor of sister publication Jet magazine since 2011. She plans to pursue writing for television and film, according to a statement.
“I have always subscribed to the principle of living in the present and remaining open to all of life’s opportunities,” Miller said in a statement. “So I believe that now is an exciting time to start a new chapter in my life.”
Miller’s exit comes during a difficult time for Johnson Publishing (the owner of both Ebony and Jet Magazines), which is facing declining revenue and a rocky transition from print to digital.
