LIME invests $79 million Jamaica mobile network upgrade
LIME (Landline Internet Mobile and Entertainment) – the Caribbean business of Cable & Wireless Communications, has announced it will invest nearly JMD 8.3 billion (US$79 million) in its mobile network upgrade to deliver ultra-fast internet speeds, improve voice quality and expand its services coverage across Jamaica.
LIME already started its 2-year project in October. The planned investments cover the installation of hardware and software upgrades to increase broadband speeds to 21 Mbps, as well as enhance voice services quality. New and existing cell sites will also be upgraded as part of the project.
