LeBron James is extending his reach into the realm of grooming.

The 39-year-old NBA All-Star is stepping into the spotlight with the launch of The Shop, a comprehensive collection of hair and skincare products inspired by his acclaimed television talk show of the same name.

Partnering with his long-time friend and business collaborator Maverick Carter, James introduced The Shop at an exclusive launch event in New York City. In an interview, Carter shed light on their new endeavor, describing how it naturally evolved.

“It wasn’t a sudden realization, but more of an organic progression,” Carter explains when discussing the genesis of the barbershop-themed brand. He attributes The Shop’s guiding principles to its essence of “uniting communities” and “empowering them through meaningful dialogue.”

The eponymous television series, co-created by Paul Rivera and Randy Mims, premiered on HBO in August 2018 and has since captivated audiences through its seventh season. Set in a barbershop environment, James and Carter host a diverse array of guests, including luminaries like Tom Brady, Drake, Quinta Brunson, and David Beckham, fostering discussions that provoke, inspire, and entertain.

Carter, who also serves as the CEO of James’ multimedia company, SpringHill, co-founded by the duo in 2020, wasn’t surprised by James’ enthusiastic involvement.
