An online platform that helps investors to find investment opportunities in Africa is widening its pool of potential clients.
The Homestrings website Launched in February 2011 by Eric-Vincent Guichard, a Guinean-American who also runs asset management firm Gravitas Capital Advisors, Homestrings has so far generated US$10 million and has a target of US$25 million by the end of 2012.
There are currently some 35 investment opportunities on the platform, ranging from private equity to government and corporate bonds.
There are already infrastructure and sovereign bonds from six countries, including Kenya, Ghana, Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire.
