Dangote Cement named the 2015 African business of the year
Dangote Cement has been named the 2015 African business of the year at the just ended African Business awards ceremony.
The judging panel applauded Dangote Cement for its continued drive to develop markets, while creating jobs and new opportunities for Africans on the continent.
Dangote Cement is part of the Dangote Group which was founded by and still run by Aliko Dangote.
Dangote Cement – Africa’s largest cement company has been expanding rapidly on the continent, aided in part to the massive infrastructure and construction boom in sub-Saharan Africa.
Other winners included the Guaranty Trust Bank for good governance, and the Nigerian Stock Exchange which cliched the award for best corporate social responsibility.
South Africa’s Mashile Nkosi was awarded with Africa’s most outstanding woman in business.
