BET founder Robert Johnson acquires Regional Trucking Company

Former BET founder, chairman and CEO Robert L. Johnson announced yesterday that his company has purchased Virginia-based R. Thompson Trucking, Inc.

According to industry sources and the company website, R. Thompson Trucking, Inc., which has a fleet of 500 trailers, over 150 tractors, and 100 dump trucks works with industrial recyclers and waste collection companies in Central and Southern Virginia and North Carolina.

The company was acquired from Linx Capital Partners by Johnson’s RLJ Companies and RLJ Equity Partners, LLC. The company will now be known as RLJ Thompson Trucking.
