15-year-old Jaylen Bledsoe founds tech company and grows it to $3.5 million in slightly over 2 years

Fifteen-year-old Jaylen Bledsoe founded Bledsoe Technologies, an information technology consulting company, when he was just 12 years old, and under his stewardship, the company now employs over 150 contractors globally, and is now valued at US$3.5 million.

Bledsoe has grown the company, without taking time off class, is a high school student at the Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School in Ladue, Missouri. He intends to attend undergraduate school at Vanderbilt University and then proceed to Harvard for his graduate degree in Copyright Law.

According to the company’s website, Jaylen Bledsoe, already has expertise in start-up businesses, entrepreneurship, Venture Capital Funding, and directing marketing platforms targeted towards small and mid-sized businesses.

Bledsoe Technologies, LLC., specializes in web design, application (apps) design and consultancy services for small to medium enterprises. The company is presently working with hotels creating a mobile app that will let their customers check in online and use their cellular phones and tablets to unlock their rooms.

Young Jaylen Bledsoe has been actively giving back to his community – he is a youth motivational speaker, focusing mainly on youth entrepreneurship, youth rights and start-up financing. He is a holder of awards including: a Presidential Academic Excellence Award from President Barack Obama in 2009; and the Gateway Young Achiever of the Year 2012.

His advice to young entrepreneurs is simple: take risks. “As a minor, there’s nothing you can do that will shoot you down for too long. You can always jump back up and keep going.”
