The Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Perth, Western Australia will be held from October 28 to 30. The heads of government meeting is held every two years and is the highest consultative and policymaking mechanism of the Commonwealth.
Andrew Holness (pictured), would have been sworn in as Jamaica’s ninth prime minister.
It would present Holness an opportunity to meet and acquaint with leaders of most of the 54 Commonwealth countries, however, it is still not yet clear whether he will attend the meeting. The meeting also provides a unique opportunity for Commonwealth leaders to work together to address significant global challenges.
The last Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting was held in Trinidad and Outgoing Prime Minister Bruce Golding led Jamaica’s delegation.
