Senegal elections update: Run-off vote expected
(Reuters) – Senegal’s presidential election will need to go to a second-round run-off, the campaign spokesman for President Abdoulaye Wade said on Tuesday after partial results showed Wade well-short of an absolute majority.
“The results that we have clearly indicate that there will be a second round. We don’t need to be told it,” Amadou Sall told Reuters by phone, asked for comment after the head of the European Union election observer mission said a first-round victory for Wade was unlikely.
