Wednesday, May 16, 2012

Members of the San Francisco African American Chamber of Commerce are in Fiji hoping to increase trading opportunities between Fiji and the US.

This is the second time a delegation from the chamber has visited the country in the past eight months.

Fiji’s trade commissioner to North America Jiten Singh said the chamber was interested in various sectors such as engineering and tourism.

He added there were many opportunities for local business persons to work with the chamber.

Early yesterday morning, the delegates met with the Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama.

Chamber president and chairman Frederik Jordan said they were in the country to do business and find trading opportunities.

He added the chamber had a lot of political influence in the US, having chapters in 42 states.
