Heather Hiles is the founder and current CEO of Pathbrite, formerly called Ripplesend.
Pathbrite provides an e-Portfolio application/ platform that allows schools, teachers, students and all users create, collect, track and showcase their personal data like school projects, video clips, and showcase a lifetime of learning and achievements, and to get recommended pathways for continuous success.
The company – Pathbrite, differentiates itself from others by insisting that users own their own data and ensures the security of private information such as school transcripts. The finished product can then be transferred to a professional social network like Linkedin.
The Pathbrite platform was designed to spark student engagement and creativity. Additionally the platform provides a forum for content that goes well beyond the classroom, providing paths for everything from artistic expression to college and work applications.
Ms. Hiles has committed her life to closing the education and employment achievement gaps for youth and adults. Over the past 15-20 years, Ms. Hiles has held many leadership roles, as founder or CEO/COO, of mainly educational organizations, she sits on the board of several other organizations including the Liberian Women’s Sewing Project. Her roster of leadership roles includes: Commissioner, San Francisco Unified School District; CEO of Hiles Group (a philanthropy consultancy firm); Executive Director of Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund (SV2); CEO of SFWorks (a non-profit organization that helps place women from welfare into careers); Co-Founder of EARN (Individual Development Accounts program); and COO of Break the Cycle (K-3rd grade tutorial program).
Heather Hiles is an both alumnus of University of California, Berkeley where she earned her B.A., and Yale, where she earned her MBA.
