Butland’s mis-hit clearance went straight to Mane near the edge of the area, but the Senegal striker’s chipped effort drifted disappointingly wide.
An open second half saw both sides carve out promising opportunities but Senegal were fortunate to finish with 11 men after some challenges went unpunished by Ravshan Irmatov.
