Jamaica: Holness to be sworn in this month
It has been confirmed that Prime Minister Bruce Golding will be leaving office before the originally announced November date.
Andrew Holness (pictured), will be sworn in as Jamaica’s ninth prime minister on October 25 or 26.
Golding had initially revealed that he would not be seeking re-election as leader of the Jamaica Labor Party (JLP) and would step down as prime minister as soon as a new leader was elected. Mr. Golding has already started treating Holness as the Prime Minister-designate, including him in important meetings and introducing him to key sources in the international financial sector.
