Grenada Prime Minister Tillman Thomas
Grenada Prime Minister Tillman Thomas has announced that the general election will be held on February 19.
“The time is right to seek a new mandate from the people of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique,” he said. “With God’s grace and guidance, we shall be victorious.”
Parliament, was dissolved last week, leading to speculation that Prime Minister Thomas would call for elections.
Thomas whose National Democratic Congress (NDC) party had enjoyed popular support in 2008 saw his majority wiped out when former allies and colleagues quit and joined in the calling for a vote of no confidence in his administration late last year.
