Caribbean Development Bank to Host Forum on AI and Anti-Corruption
The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) will host a virtual conference, Expert Forum on Anti-Corruption in the Age of AI, on Monday, coinciding with International Anti-Corruption Day. Organized by the Office of Integrity, Compliance, and Accountability (ICA), the event will gather global AI and anti-corruption experts alongside practitioners from multilateral financial institutions to explore AI-driven strategies for combating corruption.
Discussions will address AI’s risks and benefits in promoting transparency, accountability, and governance, while examining ways to enhance Caribbean institutions’ capacity to tackle corruption in the digital era. Speakers will also highlight AI’s transformative impact on addressing corruption, a significant barrier to the region’s sustainable development.
Toussant Boyce, head of ICA, emphasized the importance of addressing AI’s dual nature, stating that the forum will provide stakeholders with practical insights into using AI to enhance governance and accountability.
Featured speakers include Eugene Wu (FBI), Nils Köbis (University of Duisburg-Essen), Marcelo Donolo (World Bank), and Krishna Kesari (World Bank Data Lab). The event also builds on insights from the recent Caribbean Youth Combatting Corruption in the Age of AI forum.
This forum is part of the CDB’s Caribbean Conference on Corruption, Compliance, and Cybercrime, reaffirming its commitment to fostering good governance and integrity in pursuit of sustainable development. -(CMC)
