“Every day additional information is coming out. We will continue to do what we can do, in terms of educating our members, the accountants and also other stakeholders, business professionals and financial institutions,” Southwell said.
The ICAC conference is to be held at the Grand Royal Antigua Resort June 21-23, under the theme, “Playing to Win Rolling Over the Challenges.”
It will examine the growing challenges facing the accounting profession throughout the Caribbean including anti money laundering laws, fraud schemes and terrorists financing.
The conference is open to ICAC members and is targeting business professionals and finance persons. Organisers are expecting 400 accountants to attend the conference as well as participants from their member territories of the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago and the Eastern Caribbean.
