Allyson Felix unveils nursery for athlete moms at Paris 2024 Summer Olympics
Allyson Felix, the most decorated track and field athlete in history, understands the unique challenges faced by athlete moms. As a retired sprinter and mother of two, she is advocating for better support for Olympic moms during the upcoming Paris Olympics, drawing from her own experiences.
Felix, who boasts an impressive tally of 11 Olympic and medals 20 World Championship medals, has teamed up with Pampers to create the first-ever Pampers Nursery in the Athletes Village at the Paris Olympics. This nursery will provide a dedicated space for Olympic moms to bond with, nurse, and play with their babies, aiming to alleviate some of the pressures associated with competing.
Located in the heart of the Athlete Village Plaza, the Pampers Nursery will serve as a sanctuary where athletes can take a break and enjoy private moments with their babies, just as Felix envisioned.
“I experienced firsthand how challenging it was to compete at the highest level after having my daughter, and some practical aspects were really tough,” Felix shared. “When I joined the Athletes Commission of the IOC, I was determined to be a voice for athlete moms, aiming to reduce their worries during the intense pressure of competition.”
