Trinidad rocked by 2nd earthquake in a week

Trinidad was rocked by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 early on Saturday morning, but there were no reports of damage or injury.

The Seismic Research Center of the University of the West Indies (UWI) said that the earthquake which occurred at 3.21am local time (02:21 EST), was located at 10.94 degrees north and 62.02 degrees west and was situated north of the Paria Peninsular.

The research center said that the earthquake was felt in various parts of the country. It was also felt in neighboring Grenada.

On March 4, Trinidad was rattled by an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.1. It was the second within a three-day period. The first had a magnitude of 4.9. – (CMC)
