Haiti: Government aircraft makes emergency landing in Cuba
Haiti’s president says a plane carrying 19 officials of his government has made an emergency landing in Cuba.
President Michel Martelly says the plane landed safely and there were no injuriesl, though he did not describe the emergency. On board Tuesday’s flight were three members of Martelly’s Cabinet and at least two senators.
The officials are part of an advance team preparing for Martelly’s visit to Cuba this week.
It’s the second aviation scare in recent days for Haitian officials. An helicopter carrying the prime minister and two other Cabinet members made an emergency landing in Port-au-Prince on Saturday.
