The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) has expressed excitement about Haiti-based Sunrise Airways’ decision to introduce new intra-Caribbean flights to Grenada. This service improves north-to-south connectivity within the Caribbean, linking Antigua & Barbuda, St. Lucia, Dominica, and Grenada.

Travelers can now reach Grenada from Antigua & Barbuda in under three hours and from St. Lucia in just 45 minutes, with flights available three times a week on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. GTA CEO Petra Roach highlighted that this new service marks a significant advancement in promoting regional tourism.

“The Caribbean is our third-largest market for visitors to Grenada, and this enhanced connectivity between the northern and southern Caribbean presents an opportunity to further stimulate demand. Our islands will benefit from strengthened economic and tourism ties,” she stated.

Colin Piper from Sunrise Airways remarked, “We are excited to launch service to Grenada. We now operate in five islands within the OECS as part of our Eastern Caribbean expansion. Our flights connect people and inspire travelers to explore new destinations when planning their journeys.”

The GTA noted that Sunrise Airways provides a direct non-stop flight to Grenada from Vigie Airport in Castries, significantly reducing transfer times to the capital and main resort areas.

“This convenience allows travelers to explore the islands effortlessly. The schedule accommodates both weekend getaways and extended stays, offering greater flexibility for leisure travelers, business professionals, and anyone eager to discover the unique attractions of these islands,” the GTA added.

The GTA mentioned that this new connectivity aligns with its strategy to enhance regional tourism by increasing visitor flow from neighboring Caribbean islands, and that special introductory rates are also available to encourage travelers to experience this new route. -(CMC)
