Bahamian technology firm, Cloud Carib, is aiming to capture more market share in data center solutions across the Caribbean.

According to company officials, plans are being made to open 5 data centers by the end of the year.

The company says it will inaugurate rebuilt data centers in Barbados, Jamaica and Panama as well as establishing data facilities in the Cayman Islands and Trinidad & Tobago.

There are currently 2 data centers in The Bahamas.
More data centers means that clients can “choose a location that suits their needs,” say company officials.

“We are helping clients design a solution for them, not providing cookie cutter solutions and forcing them to work within those constraints,” said Cloud Carib’s Chief Commercial Officer, Scott McKenzie.

Founded in 2011, Cloud Carib counts Cisco, Juniper, VMware, Citrix, Netapp, and Brocade among its partners.
Cable Bahamas, one of the main wireless carriers in the country, is said to be heavily reliant on Cloud Carib’s data centers to provide broadband access to its customers.

The company’s data centers are serviced by their own Command and Control Center to provide clients with support and monitoring.
All Cloud Carib data centers are operated in alignment of international standards with service supported by the Cloud Carib Service Management Framework.

The company noted that due to the regions geographical advantages, there has been an explosion of organizations interested in cloud services provided throughout The Bahamas and Caribbean region and it has responded to the growing demand with regional expansion. -(CMC)
