At 18, just two weeks after graduating high school, Brandon Moss became the youngest candidate ever to run for mayor of Fairfield, Alabama, according to his campaign manager, Marilyn Yelder. Launching his campaign on June 7, Moss cited his strong ties to the city and a commitment to economic development and improved quality of life for its 9,500 residents.

Influenced by Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin and former President Barack Obama, he aims to bring fresh ideas to local leadership.

Moss has been active in civic programs, including Alabama’s Youth and Government, the Birmingham City Schools Student Advisory Board, and an internship with the school superintendent’s office.
