The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), in partnership with the Government of Grenada, today launched the fourth AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF2025) in St. George’s, spotlighting a growing US$1.8 billion trade opportunity between Africa and the Caribbean by 2028.

Held under the theme “Resilience and Transformation: Enhancing Africa-Caribbean Economic Cooperation in an Era of Global Uncertainty,” the two-day forum brings together government leaders, investors, and business executives from across Africa and the Caribbean Comunity (CARICOM) region to strengthen trade, investment, and cultural ties.

ACTIF2025 builds on the success of previous editions, including ACTIF2024 in The Bahamas, where over US$4 billion in commercial agreements were signed. This year’s event emphasizes actionable outcomes through high-level business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) meetings, sector-specific panels, and targeted investment showcases.

The International Trade Centre (ITC) projects that Africa-Caribbean trade could reach US$1.8 billion by 2028, driven by collaboration in key sectors such as processed foods, minerals and metals, and transportation. A major focus is empowering small and medium enterprises (SMEs) – the economic backbone of both regions—by improving their access to capital, markets, and cross-regional supply chains.

Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell of Grenada opened the forum with a call to action: “ACTIF is a clarion call for unity, enterprise, and a reimagined global role for our people. This forum turns our shared vision for African-Caribbean unity into tangible economic transformation.”

Afreximbank continues to position ACTIF as its flagship initiative for deepening South-South cooperation. With global economic uncertainties mounting, the 2025 forum underscores the need for resilient, diversified trade relationships that foster inclusive growth and long-term prosperity.

For investors and entrepreneurs, ACTIF2025 represents more than a conference – it’s a strategic pipeline of high-potential opportunities across two dynamic regions. As momentum builds, the Africa-Caribbean corridor is emerging as a cornerstone of equitable, sustainable global trade.
