African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania highlights importance of innovation and diversity
The African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania held its annual Business Luncheon Monday.
The theme of the event, held at the Omni William Penn, was “Redefining our Future.” By offering a more diverse range of programs throughout 2012, Doris Carson Williams, president and CEO of the Chamber, said the organization has worked to continuously redefine itself, while still holding onto its roots.
“Our past is not only our foundation, but also very much a part of the fabric of who we are at the African American Chamber of Commerce,” Williams said.
Since its inception in the mid-1990s, the Chamber’s mission has always been to improve business and professional opportunities for African American business owners and professionals.
