100 Black Men of America, Inc. Takes a Leadership Role in Educating and Mentoring African American Men About Prostate Cancer
(PRNewswire-USNewswire) – 100 Black Men of America, Inc., Chairman Albert E. Dotson, Jr., the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of 100 Black Men of America, Inc. release an official statement on prostate cancer, in an effort to save lives of countless men who are at the highest risk of developing prostate cancer.
In response to the new Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) Recommendations from the US Preventative Task Force, the 100 has taken a leadership role in clarifying existing information and they will provide future information to help reduce confusion about how to deal with Prostate Cancer among men at highest risk.

Dotson, Jr., Chairman, 100 Black Men of America, Inc. “We have always provided prostate screenings, education and healthy lifestyle information to combat this disease that disproportionately impacts African American men, therefore, we will continue to support routine PSA testing.”
African American men get prostate cancer at an earlier age, and more often than their white counterparts. As part of 100 Black Men of America, Inc.’s Prostate Cancer Initiative, the 100 will advocate for greater awareness and a clear understanding on how to manage prostate cancer. The 100 is sounding a clarion call to educate men in high risk groups about three critical elements in prostate cancer management:
1. Early Detection
2. Monitoring
3. Treatment
