Laban Moiben of Kenya sets new Ottawa marathon record

Kenya’s Laban Moiben set a new record Sunday for the Ottawa race weekend marathon with a time of 2:09:12.
His result shaved 19 seconds off the previous record set in 2009. In 2011, Moiben’s time was 2:10:17. In 2010, he placed second with 2:09:43.
Two other Kenyans took the second and third spots, and about 10 minutes later Canada’s first runner passed the finish line in 12th place.
