Kevin Durant acquires ownership stake in Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain
NBA star Kevin Durant is leaving Paris with more than just an Olympic gold medal – he’s now an investor in top French football (soccer) club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
On Monday, Durant revealed his investment through Boardroom, his media and entertainment company. The investment, made alongside his business partner Rich Kleiman, was facilitated through Arctos Partners, which acquired a 12.5 percent stake in PSG.
Durant’s involvement is expected to boost PSG’s brand presence in the U.S., especially in marketing and sponsorships, as the 2025 Club World Cup and the 2026 World Cup are set to take place in the United States over the next two summers.
Durant, who is 35 years old and currently plays for the Phoenix Suns, is a passionate soccer enthusiast and already a part-owner of MLS team Philadelphia Union. He shares a close friendship with PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi and has visited the club’s training ground and Parc des Princes stadium multiple times before finalizing his investment.
