Jo-Wilfried Tsonga faces Roger Federer

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (pictured), meets Roger Federer tonight in the quarter-finals of the US Open, with Tsonga looking to beat Federer again.

Tsonga then proved it was no fluke by outplaying Federer in Montreal.

Tsonga has been very impressive and has made the headlines by taking down American hope – Mardy Fish in five sets, 6-4 6-7 3-6 6-4 6-2.

Tsonga is back at his top ten best, but it was still quite an effort to come from two sets to one down with the entire crowd against him.

This is an important match as Federer has not failed to reach the semi-finals of the US Open since 2003.

If Tsonga beats him again, it really will be perceived as a changing of the guard, in the eyes of the rest of the top players and the media.
